I recently started consulting a startup building a new financial planning and budgeting app for startups, small businesses and non-profits. It has been an amazing journey being part of an innovative team designing something from scratch and using AI. My role has been on product direction and user experience. I did customer research, built the brand strategy and created the design system. I used AI tools like Claude, Builder.IO and Vibe coding in helping speed up the design workflow.

I started by using AI to brainstorm ideas, perform market research and build concept screens. This accelerated things and got us talking about the things we need to figure out, and it helped us get ideas in front of customers. We did a lot of interviews and user testing. It’s amazing to see how tools are evolving so quickly. I took the concepts and then built the entire design system in Claude Design & Figma. I also designed a Chat experience.
